Average response time: under 24 hours

Feed a wet core bit 3-6 litres of water per minute for bits up to 100mm, and up to 8-12 L/min for larger diameters. The water must reach the diamond crown continuously — the return slurry should look milky, not steaming. If the slurry turns to steam or the bit smokes, you are cutting too fast or the water flow is too low.
| Bit Diameter | Recommended Flow | Feeding Style |
|---|---|---|
| 25-50mm | 2-4 L/min | Light steady stream |
| 60-100mm | 3-6 L/min | Constant stream to crown |
| 110-200mm | 6-10 L/min | Full flow, use water ring |
| 200mm+ | 10-12 L/min | Water ring + vacuum slurry recovery |
A: Yes — use a water tank and pump kit with a valve adapter, or switch to a dry bit. JOY TECH offers both wet core drill bits and dry bits for no-water jobs.
A: Insufficient water or excessive feed pressure. Stop, let the bit cool in the water flow, and reduce the feed. Check the slurry colour.
A:More water relative to cutting speed — hard aggregate needs more flushing and cooling, so slow the feed and raise the flow.
Match the water flow to the bit diameter, keep the crown covered with a steady milky slurry and reduce feed in hard concrete. Done right, wet drilling is fast, clean and gives the longest bit life. Contact JOY TECH for wet core bits and water accessories in contractor volumes.
