Apply the densifier after the metal bond grinding steps (around 100–200#) and before the resin polishing steps (400#+). This lets the densifier penetrate the opened surface and harden it, so the resin pads can compress and polish it to gloss. Some processes re-apply a light coat before the final burnish.
| Step | Action | Densifier? |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Metal bond grind 30–100# | No |
| 2 | Metal bond refine 100–200# | No |
| 3 | Apply densifier, let dry | Yes |
| 4 | Transitional pads 200–400# | No |
| 5 | Resin polish 800–3000# | Optional light re-coat |
| 6 | Burnish | No |
Not usefully — the metal bond steps will grind the densified layer away. Apply after the coarse grinding is done.
Follow the product data sheet — typically 30–60 minutes to dry, or up to a few hours before heavy resin polishing. Damp densifier will smear under resin pads.
No — one good application per full polish cycle is standard. A light re-coat before final burnish is optional for extra hardness.
Densifier goes after the metal grind and before the resin polish — that's the window where it penetrates, hardens and delivers gloss. Time it right, let it dry, and the final polish locks in the shine. JOY TECH's pad range supports every step of this sequence.
