Yes, you can score and snap most concrete pavers up to 80 mm thick — score a 2-3 mm deep line with a diamond blade on an angle grinder, place the scored line over a thin fulcrum (a 25 mm dowel or pipe), and press down evenly on both sides. It works best on standard paving bricks and 50-60 mm pavers. For thicker, reinforced or interlocking pavers, use a wet saw for a clean cut.
| Paver Type | Score-and-Snap? | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Clay brick, 50-70 mm | Excellent | — |
| Concrete paver, 50-60 mm | Good | Wet saw for finished edges |
| Thick slabstone, 80-120 mm | Spotty | Wet saw |
| Reinforced / interlocking paver | No | Block saw |
A general-purpose turbo dry blade scores pavers fast; for a perfectly straight cut every time, the turbo mesh blade leaves a clean scored line.
A: About 1/5 of the paver thickness. For a 60 mm paver, score 2-3 mm deep on both sides.
A: Porcelain is too hard and brittle — it shatters unpredictably. Use a wet rail saw.
A: Score too shallow, or the fulcrum isn't exactly under the score line. Deepen the score and align carefully.
A: Not for scoring a few pavers, but use dust extraction. Wet sawing is cleaner and extends blade life.
