Choose the blade diameter by three things: (1) the maximum diameter your electric saw accepts, (2) the cutting depth you need, and (3) the blade RPM matching your saw's no-load speed. Most electric cut-off saws accept 300-350 mm blades and cut to 100-120 mm deep. Never fit a larger blade than the saw's guard allows — over-diameter blades hit the guard and are unsafe.
| Blade Diameter | Max Depth | Typical Saw |
|---|---|---|
| 115 mm (4.5") | 30 mm | Angle grinder, small electric cutter |
| 125 mm (5") | 40 mm | Angle grinder, compact saw |
| 230 mm (9") | 75 mm | Large angle grinder / electric cutter |
| 300 mm (12") | 100 mm | Electric cut-off saw, 2200W+ |
| 350 mm (14") | 120 mm | Heavy electric floor saw / walk-behind |
Our high-frequency welded electric saw blade is sized for 300-350 mm electric cut-off saws; for heavier jobs, the laser-welded range covers walk-behind machines.
A: No. The guard won't close, the blade may hit the base, and the RPM mismatch is dangerous.
A: Cut about 1/4 of slab thickness for control joints, so 25-30 mm. A 230 mm blade is plenty.
A: Not the blade itself, but 110V saws often have less power, so don't overfeed. Match the blade to the saw's RPM.
A: Usually a blade that's too large for the motor, or a bond too hard for the material. Try a smaller diameter or softer bond.
